Inspired by Ron Paul, Shane became an avid student of Austrian Economics in 2008. He immersed himself in the works of Rothbard, Mises, Hayek, and other Austrian luminaries, with special gratitude towards the Mises Institute.

In 2016, motivated by a desire to combat the corruption of the fiat counterfeit class, Shane planned his political trajectory. His forays into politics included campaigns for US Congress in 2018, US Senate in 2020, and the Governor of Georgia in 2022. Through these experiences, he came to understand that true freedom could only be realized once the monetary system is rectified.

It was in 2019 that Shane encountered Bitcoin maximalists Alex Svetski and Saifedean Ammous. Their insights bridged the gap between Austrian Economics and Bitcoin for him. Engrossed in every Bitcoin-related book, article, and podcast he could find, Shane recognized Bitcoin as the scarce, inevitable currency, impervious to manipulation by any counterfeit class.

Subsequently, Shane became determined to find his niche within the Bitcoin-exclusive industry. Fortunately for him, the esteemed team at Swan had a position available.
