—Reports—
-International Events-
1. Germany votes for historic boost to defense spending: Under the measure, any spending on defense that amounts to more than 1% of Germany’s GDP would no longer be subject to a limit on borrowing. Until now, this debt brake has been fixed at 0.35% of GDP. The defense plans approved today by the Bundestag also allow spending on aid for states “attacked in violation of international law” to be exempt from the debt brake. That will enable outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz to release €3bn in aid to Ukraine as early as next week. (BBC) (AC-Nothing says I love you like borrowing from your country’s future to give it to Ukraine as you leave office.)
2. Poland, Baltics Signal Plans To Withdraw From Landmines Treaty: Poland and the Baltic states on Tuesday took a first step towards quitting a treaty banning anti-personnel mines, citing an increased security risk from Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. (IBTimes)
3. White House: Trump, Putin ‘Agreed’ Ukraine War Must End ‘with a Lasting Peace’: “They also stressed the need for improved bilateral relations between the United States and Russia. The blood and treasure that both Ukraine and Russia have been spending in this war would be better spent on the needs of their people,” it adds. Negotiations around a ceasefire will begin at once in the Middle East. (Breitbart)
-US Events-
1. US judge blocks Trump’s transgender military ban: In a strongly worded opinion on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes of Washington, D.C., issued a preliminary injunction against President Donald Trump’s executive order directing the Department of Defense to bar enlistment of transgender Americans into the armed services and to discharge those already serving in the military. Reyes said the preliminary injunction will be in effect from 10 a.m. Friday, giving the government time to consider filing an emergency stay. (UPI)
2. JFK Assassination Files Unveiled: CIA and Conspiracy Connections Explored: Yesterday President Trump authorized the release of approximately 80,000 pages of previously classified documents related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The files include records that mention CIA agent Gary Underhill, who made claims of CIA involvement in the assassination and was later found dead under suspicious circumstances. These documents also reveal CIA communications about potential threats and discussions on redactions, particularly involving Israel. (X)
3. At Least 14 Conservative Voices ‘Swatted’ over the last week: From available information and posts on X, at least 14 conservative individuals have been swatted since around March 12, 2025. The timing—shortly after Tesla-related attacks and amid political tensions involving President Donald Trump and Elon Musk—has led to speculation of a coordinated effort targeting conservatives. (X)
